How fast the CUDA really is? any Benchmark?

there are lots of discussions going on cuda but how fast does it work?

example how fast does it work than the latest core2 Duo?

10 times or 20 times atleast? for mathematical calculations?

are there any benchmarks results?graphs?

It is not unusual to see a 10-20x speed-up, depending on the characteristic of the application and the size of the data set ( you need to keep busy thousands of threads).

We have seen reports of 100x speed-up.

well its nice performance but i really feel that will there be any bottle neck in terms of network bandwidth and as well as how fast the system bus is and how much amount of RAM will be required as well to pump the data continuously to the GPU ( cuda enabled )…

like the following configs suits for some specific applications?

Tyan motherboards with arround 16GB of RAM with high speed optical fibre networking…

for a single 8800 to be driven continuously…

can I use this CUDA for data processing applications and as well as computer graphics rendering… i mean for film or animation?

I know theres already Gelato in the path which uses GPU… for rendering but the performance level what you are taking about doesnt seem to be working with Gelato…

coz in certain situations its arround 10x performance than normal renderers but for 8800 it must be atleast 40x …

cg renderings are always computation Hungry and does this CUDA can make use of it?
