How is a UEFI failure to load driver reported?

The NVIDIA driver is not being loaded, despite being configured to load. There are lots of potential causes of this but the one that I’m interested in is UEFI rejection of the load.

How is such a failure reported? Where can I look to see if that’s the cause?
