What the simulation presents during the run is the ‘First Person View’ : ‘Isaac Sim Camera Capture’. I am wondering if there is a way to change to ‘Third Person View’ as showing in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnyFcQ6LR3s.
I think a ‘Third Person View’ can provide a better observation on the vehicle’s motion.
Thanks for your interest and question.
We took out the 3rd person view to improve the performance.
I believe there are still ways to add it, but is not straight forward and it will bring the fps down, which in turns will affect the localization.
Thank you for letting me know. An optional method I came up is to load the robot model from a URDF file. In that case, the camera is controlled by mouse. The camera is not following the robot as it moves so I have to keep dragging the mouse to follow the robot.
I did not measure the fps rate in the video but just based on eyeballing, I did not notice any fps drop. I am using an RTX2080 GPU, perhaps the hardware is sufficient enough for a simple task.
