How to debug kernel crash

I have Xavier NX board with Jetpack 4.6 [L4T 32.6.1], 4.9.253-tegra. I got kernel crash issue, but from other topic: “kdump was not supported in k4.9, will be enable in next release(k5.10)”.

How can I debug kernel crash issue?

Check the uart log, see the stack dump from the kernel crash and see which driver is causing it.

Unfortunately my crash happens on device and can’t connect uart cable. Is there any other way to make stack dump output to file?

Nope. Unless you already knew which driver is causing problem.

Looks I can install linux-crashdump package with “sudo apt-get install linux-crashdump”. If I install it on my NX board, should I have crash dump functionality on NX?

I don’t know. No experience with that.

You might also try logging in over the network via ssh and running “dmesg --follow” prior to the crash. If the crash then occurs it is possible the ssh session will see this and you can copy and paste on the host PC.
