Topic Description

How can I load a custom plugin from a standalone python script? (like GitHub - isaac-sim/IsaacSimZMQ: Isaac SIM extension for communication with external application via ZMQ ) In the docs, I only found examples for loading an extension with the UI.

Additional Information

What I’ve Tried

I tried to load the extensions with simulation_app._framework.load_plugins but enable_extension is still not finding them.

Please refer to --ext-folder PATH and --enable EXT_ID mentioned in the “Isaac Sim CLI Launch flags” section on Setup Tips — Isaac Sim Documentation.

@VickNV Thank you for your answer!

Is it possible to get the behaviour of these flags when we run the pip-installed Isaac Sim with the standard python executable and not with the provided python.sh?

These are also available for the isaacsim command.

Thank you!

What do you mean by the isaacsim command? Maybe the isaac-sim.sh?

I’m trying to find out if i can use custom plugins with a standalone python script.
