How to force Displayport to use 4 lanes rather than 2 (Linux)

Is there a way to force the GPU DisplayPort output to send video over 4 lanes by default rather than 2?
Currently using the Nvidia Quadro P1000 on a PC running Ubuntu and connecting to a monitor with DP1.1 compliance.

Thank you in advance!

I don’t think there’s a way to do that. Out of curiosity, why do you need to do that?

There is no test mode or something? I was thinking maybe this could be set in the driver or if I forced a different EDID?

The reason I would like to try this is I am getting some video drop out while using a long cable. I’m guessing this is due to bit arrival time errors either inter pair or intra pair. When running video over two lanes each are running at 2.7Gbps. When running over four lanes each lane is 1.62Gbps. The lower speed provides less chance of bit arrival timing errors.
