How to get Jetson Nano to work on 4K display using just FHD

Is it possible to get the Jetson Nano to work on a 4K monitor as though it was just a FHD monitor. I have gotten a new monitor that is 4K, however my Jetson Nano seems to be considerably more laggy and slow on this when I connect it up (does this sound right, or is the higher res monitor not likely to be the cause).

What do you see from “xrandr”? Typically, you can use one of those sizes, for example, if available:
xrandr -s 1920x1080
