how to install nvidia drivers on fedora 16

Hi,
what is the current official procedure for installing nvidia drivers on fedora 16 ? There are many on the internet the first one I tried broke the x startup.

Should the procedure vary depending on my hardware ? ( asus rampage extreme iv + gtx 690 ).

tks
Rich

FYI these steps succeeded in installing the nvidia drivers on my fc16 x64 system :
http://www.if-not-true-then-false.com/2011/fedora-16-nvidia-drivers-install-guide-disable-nouveau-driver/

I still find it odd that on the one hand nvidia support only certain (superseded) linux distros but on the other hand do not appear to advertise usable install procedures for their drivers.

Hi richm2,
Did you check out the Getting Started Guide at http://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cuda-getting-started-guide-for-linux/index.html? That contains the instructions needed to get you going with CUDA. Let me know if it’s missing something, and we can patch it up!

Thanks,
Andy
