How to mount a network drive ?

How can I mount to a network drive within the Jetson TK1 console ?

I am trying to mount a network drive which is available in windows as ‘\network_drive_root\directory1’ to directory ‘mnt/our_network_drive_directory1’ via the command

sudo mount -t cifs //network_drive_root/directory1 mnt/our_network_directory1 -o user=<my_linux_user_name>

But that does’nt work, I get error

Mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on //network_drive_root/directory1, (for several filesystems (e.g. nfs, cifs) you might need a /sbin/mount. helper program) In same cases useful info is found in syslog –try dmseg | tail or so

Problem solved. package ‘cifs-utils’ was missing.

sudo apt-get install cifs-utils
