Detailed Description

How to simulate a soft rope without elasticity in Isaac Sim?

Currently, I can simulate a soft rope by:

  1. create a cylinder mesh;
  2. add Deformable Body to the cylinder;
  3. apply Deformable Body Material to the cylinder.

However, the soft rope performs with elasticity regardless of the values (including density, dynamic friction, Young’s Modulus, Poisson’s Ratio, Elasticity Damping, and Damping Scale) provided in the Deformable Body Material panel I set. Are there any solutions to simulate a soft rope without elasticity in the way I mentioned? If not, are there other alternative ways to achieve this?
