how to use MCX314A 2 ports one stand by and one active

Hi,

My setup is as follows.

2-X86 machines running on RHEL 7.0 connected with MCX314A ( 2 port).

Two machines connected and 2 ports connected with 2 40G cable.

Now can I configure one port as stand by and another port as back up.

is that option is available, if it is available please provide the procedure

Hi Rama,

In order to set 2 ports one is active and the other is backup , you can configure a bond using the active-backup mode.

Active-backup policy: Only one slave in the bond is active. A different slave becomes active if, and only if, the active slave fails.

The bond’s MAC address is externally visible on only one port (network adapter) to avoid confusing the switch.

This mode provides fault tolerance. The primary option affects the behavior of this mode.
