I have a 1050ti that is crashing often in linux, can someone diagnose?

The symptom is simple, one minute it’s fine, the next video is dead locked. It seems to happen most when the system is busy. Note: I do not do anything with the GPU most of the time. It dies when it is doing nothing and the CPU is busy.

It was happening rarely a few months ago. Now it seems to happen any time the system gets loaded.

This board is about two years old and has worked perfectly until a few months ago. I’m hoping it’s software, but my hardware engineer senses are chanting, “hardware failure” over and over again.

Any help anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated.

Update. The video card did not crash in this oops. and according to the latest dmesg, before I rebooted there were multiple oops. I think that means that something else is failing… If a linux expert cares to give me some sense of what is going wrong, I’d really appreciate it.
