Detailed Description
Greetings to all. It’s not the first time I’ve encountered a problem, I’ve been working on it for two days. I completely reinstalled Isaac Sim 3 or 4 times, because at first I thought that the problem was that my username on the PC was written in Cyrillic, I created a new user with Latin letters in the name, but all in vain, the resources would not load. I also tried using a VPN during the first launch of the application (when resources are downloaded), but that didn’t help either. Below I will attach a file with file upload logs (before that, there was not a single error when building the application, the Internet connection seemed to be normal and stable).
@foranysofts i am just another user, but a few points that may be worth pointing out:
it doesn’t directly correlate to your issue with accessing the resources, but RTX 2070 super does not seem to meet the minimum requirement. though it’s worth trying, but do consider the potential limitation you will face. you can find the technical requirement for Isaac Sim here - Isaac Sim Requirements — Isaac Sim Documentation
special characters do have an impact and is often best to use standard english with no symbols or special characters.
Also, where are you based? There may be region locked depending on your location, so if you can confirm, i am sure the mods/devs will be able to tell you whether it is the case.
last but not least, VPN has been discouraged by the mods/devs, but not sure if it’s contributing to the issue you are experiencing.
1.As I wrote initially, I created a new user on my system, where the username is written in English without Cyrillic and any characters
2. I live in the Russian Federation, and, I assume, in particular, this is the reason for the problems downloading mods. I decided to test it and without any enabled network utilities, I copied the link to the mod from the console and pasted it into the browser, as a result, the link did not open. Next, I turned on the VPN and decided to go to the same link again, and everything was fine, at least the mod opened in the browser, but unfortunately, even if the VPN is turned on and the mods are downloaded to the desktop Isaac Sim, they still don’t download
3. Please tell me if there is any way to deploy Isaac Sim in a rented cloud with more powerful hardware than mine, download, configure, and run it? Are there any other options I can explore to make it work? It is also important for me to know if, for example, there is an option to run Isaac Sim in the cloud or in some other way, but in a way that works for me, will there be any restrictions in this regard? If so, which ones, can they be fixed/eliminated somehow?
Based on your limited hardware and the fact that you live in an embargoed area of the world, I do not think you can run Isaac Sim locally. You may, however, be able to access a cloud provider like Azure or EC2 and install Isaac Sim from there. We do not support any workflow over vpn. Good luck.
Thank you very much for your answer. I have a small question: can I install Isaac Sim on any virtual server (as long as it’s not located in the Russian Federation, but rather in Europe)? Or do I need to use specific platforms?
