I'm checking your programming guide for mellanox connectx5, it has one option of "Configuring Uplink Representor Mode". It is marked as optional. Is it supported in connectx5 card? Secondly we have not seen its usage for ovs offloa feature.

Can you confirm if it is needed to be enabled for ovs offload feature, if not then what is its use case.

Hi Farhat,

Yes, it is supported in ConnectX-5 card.

The default mode is ‘new_netdev’, where the uplink representor is created as a new netdevice (2 devices).

You don’t have to change it unless you want the NIC netdevice to act as an uplink representor device, then you can change the mode to ‘nic_netdev’.
