Incorrect resolution after monitor turned off and on again

After an external display over USB-C turns off and on again, the resolution is set to 640x480 (log shows it things the screen size is (0,0)). If I let the monitor go to standby again a few times, the resolution will be correct after a while.

I’m currently on the 560 driver on Fedora Linux, but the situation was the same with 555.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE

  1. Boot to desktop
  2. Don’t do anything and let the monitor go to standby
  3. Press any key to wake it up

OBSERVED RESULT
Screen resolution is 640x480

EXPECTED RESULT
Screen resolution should not change
