Inquire about the extent of implementation of Aerial CUDA-Accelerated RAN and future plans for implementation

The overview of Aerial CUDA-Accelerated RAN states that “the platform … supports a full stack framework for a gNB integration L2/L3 (MAC, RLC, PDCP), along with manageability and orchestration.”
However, when I checked the containers and resources, it seems that it is only implemented up to the PHY in layer 1 and the MAC in layer 2.

  1. Is it correct that only the PHY and MAC are implemented at this point, but not the RLC, PDCP, and components at higher layers (such as layer 3 RRC)?
  2. If not available at this time, are there plans to develop and make it available in the future?
  3. If there is a plan, when will they be available?

Hi,

I am also looking for more information. At least, you managed to download a container. I have not been able to download anything. The Get Container button on the Aerial SDK is greyed out. I may have to think about using the OAI website. I think they may have a CU and RIC. From what you mention, it seems like the Nvidia container that you have is the DU.

Hello,
For 1: The entire O-RAN L1 (upper) PHY has been implemented. Regarding the MAC, only certain blocks which are being accelerated by the GPU are implemented.
For 2 and 3: We have not announced any plans to develop additional layers such as RLC, etc

@mukul.patel,
Have you joined the 6G developer program?
