Hi,
I would like to confirm the total bandwidth capabilities of the MCX755106AS-HEAT adapter card when operating in Ethernet link layer mode without the use of an auxiliary connection card. Specifically, is the total bandwidth limited to 200Gbps in this configuration, and does it increase to 400Gbps only when the auxiliary connection card is used?
Based on my testing with iperf2:
*Running tests across both ports simultaneously, each port achieves around 100Gbps, totaling 200Gbps.
*Testing a single port alone yields around 200Gbps for that port.
This behavior aligns with my understanding, but I would appreciate your confirmation or clarification. For reference, I have been consulting the documentation at this link.
https://docs.nvidia.com/networking/display/connectx7vpi/introduction
“NVIDIA offers ConnectX-7 Socket Direct adapter cards, which enable 400Gb/s or 200Gb/s connectivity, and also for servers with PCIe Gen 4.0 capability. The adapter’s 32-lane PCIe bus is split into two 16-lane buses, with one bus accessible through a PCIe x16 edge connector and the other bus through an x16 Auxiliary PCIe Connection card.”
Additionally, I used mlxlink to dump the following data, which may help in diagnosing or validating the current configuration.
Thank you for your assistance.
Best regards,
Myron
