Installing Cuda 2.0 on SUSE Enterprise

My IT dept controls the Tesla I work on. I asked them to install Cuda 2.0, which they did, but they apparently did not install the driver. So that was installed yesterday, but I still cannot use textures which I was expecting to with the new driver.

If the new driver is installed does the SDK etc have to be re-installed?

I think this happens when you’re using a non-177 driver with CUDA 2.0. Update to 177.67 from the CUDA Zone site and it should work.

177.67 is now installed and textures now work, but I’m told by my IT dept that when rebooting then X sometimes fails.

For extra smoothness in this department, make sure that all NVIDIA drivers/things from the Linux distro package system are removed.
