installing cudatoolkit-42-archive and corresponding sdk

Hi,

I installed cudatoolkit -42-archive and corresponding sdk in ubuntu version-14.04 for GPGPU-sim as mentioned in the link- http://cs922.blogspot.in/2014/01/gpgpu-sim-is-tool-developed-for.html

I dont have graphic card in my laptop and as such i didnt install the driver.

while building sdk, I am getting an error-

/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lcuda
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[2]: […/…/bin/linux/release/matrixMulDrv] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory /home/neeraj/NVIDIA_GPU_Computing_SDK/C/src/matrixMulDrv
make[1]: [src/matrixMulDrv/Makefile.ph_build] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory /home/neeraj/NVIDIA_GPU_Computing_SDK/C
make: [all] Error 2

I don’t know why I am getting this error. Is it because of the driver?

Can someone, please, help me ?
TIA :)

"You’ll need to re-read the link you provided. Note this: " Some error might be reported during building SDK but it’s ok to ignore them. " and this: “As long as NVIDIA driver is not needed to generate libraries, it is fine to run GPGPU-sim without a Nvidia video card.” Well, that sample that failed to compile depends on the NVIDIA driver. the library libcuda.so is installed by the driver. I’m not that familiar with GPUGPU-sim, but maybe you should just follow the directions in the link you provided and ignore that error, since matrixMulDrv depends on the driver. Try make -k "
