Installing ROS on Drive AGX Xavier

What is the process to install ROS Melodic on Drive AGX Xavier?

Can it be installed directly using ‘apt install’ following the instructions as on a x86 system: melodic/Installation/Ubuntu - ROS Wiki

OR is cross-compiling necessary to install ROS in AGX Xavier?

Hi @SagarS,

Either way should work. As you can see “Ubuntu packages are built for the following distros and architectures.” stated in melodic/Installation/Ubuntu - ROS Wiki.

Thank You. I did notice the wiki page says arm64 is supported but saw a lot of discussion related to cross-compiling too. So was not sure if Drive AGX Xavier needs it to be cross-compiled or the pre-compiled binaries available can work.

ROS packages aren’t maintained by us.I believe most of them should be able to be installed by either way.
