Internal compiler error. calc_dw_tag: unexpected type 3

Hi!

I’m running into a strange error while trying to compile the COSMO model with PGI compiler version 8.0.2 (the latest we currently have available on our Cray XT4). In the IPA phase of the linking I am getting the following message…

...
IPA: Recompiling organize_assimilation.o: new IPA information

I have no idea what to do about it. The line 2785 of organize_assimiliatin.f90 contains a simple “END SUBROUTINE input_nudging” statement at the end of a subroutine.

Thanks for any ideas,
Oli

Hi Oli,

Since you were kind enough to allow us to add COSMO to our regression testing, we had discovered this error a few months back (Check your mid-February mail for a note from me). It was submitted as TPR#15581 and fixed as of the 8.0-5 release. I understand it’s difficult for you to update your compiler version, but moving to 8.0-5 is best way to resolve this issue.

Thanks,
Mat

Hi Mat,

Thanks for your reply. I will try to get our computing center moving on this issue.

Cheers,
Oli
