Invalid 'Date' entry in Release file /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/_var_cuda-repo-8-0-local_Release

Hi,

I installed CUDA 8.0 on my machine which as GPU Nvidia GEForce 940MX

While running the command

sudo apt-get install --fix-broken && sudo apt-get autoremove && sudo apt-get update

the error i am getting is Invalid ‘Date’ entry in Release file /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/_var_cuda-repo-8-0-local_Release

As per the blog https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apt/+bug/1649086 i Changed the dateformat to UTC still am getting the same error.

Pls suggest the way forward

FYI:
my ubtunu version: 16.10
CUDA version: 8.0
cuDNN vers: 7.03

As per the below link CUDA 8.0 does not support GEForce 940 MX.

CUDA 5.0 need to be installed on Ubuntu: 11.10

that is incorrect information

CUDA 8 supports GeForce 940mx

The cuda-gpus link simply hasn’t been updated to include every GPU.
