Hi all,

I am currently using the official DeepStream 7.1 Docker image, which ships with GStreamer 1.20.3 by default.

For some feature and bug-fix requirements, I am considering upgrading GStreamer inside the container to version 1.24.13 (including core and related plugins).

Before proceeding, I would like to confirm:

  1. Is it officially supported or allowed to upgrade GStreamer to 1.24.x inside the DeepStream 7.1 Docker environment?

  2. Are there any known compatibility issues between DeepStream 7.1 components (such as nvv4l2*, nvstreammux, nvdspreprocess, etc.) and GStreamer 1.24?

  3. Would NVIDIA recommend keeping the default GStreamer version shipped with DeepStream, and if so, what are the main technical reasons?

Any guidance or best practices would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

No. We only have the instruction for upgrading to 1.22.6. Frequently Asked Questions — DeepStream documentation

It is never evaluated.

Yes. It is recommeded to keep the default GStreamer version because it is distributed by Ubuntu 22.04. It is verified before release.

There is no update from you for a period, assuming this is not an issue anymore. Hence we are closing this topic. If need further support, please open a new one. Thanks.
