Is there a disadvantage to compile against an architecture family rather than a single arch

With Blackwell, architecture families were introduced. Typically, to compile for multiple architectures I pass each architecture via the -gencodeflag, e.g

-gencode arch=compute_90,code=sm_90 -gencode arch=compute_100,code=sm_100 -gencode arch=compute_120,code=sm_120

For above use-case, is it safe to just go ahead and always specify the architecture-family if supported?

For example -gencode arch=compute_90,code=sm_90 -gencode arch=compute_100f,code=sm_100f -gencode arch=compute_120f,code=sm_120f

I did some reading on documentation: The family specific features are a common subset of individual architecture features within that family. So if you only use features from the subset, then I guess it’s fine to compile for that family.
