Is there a way to automatically open opensm after system startup?

Hi Zhuqing,

Thank you for posting your question on the Mellanox Community.

As the question was already answered above, let me clarify.

During the installation of the OpenSM package, start/stop script is installed into /etc/init.d and added to ‘init’ and / or ‘systemd’

You can control the start and stop behavior by the following commands:

‘init’

chkconfig opensm on → This will enable OpenSM to start during boot

service opensm start

service opensm status

‘systemd’

systemctl enable opensm → This will enable OpenSM to start during boot

systemctl start opensm

systemctl status opensm

Thanks and regards,

My question is how does opensm start automatically with system startup. Can you explain more details? Thanks.

depends on the OS:

chkconfig opensmd on

or

systemctl enable opensmd.service

Startup/shutdown script for opensm is added to the appropriate system run levels (in /etc/rc.d)
