Isaac ROS 3.x on AGX Xavier with JP 5.1.4 and Cuda upgrade?

We have Isaac ROS 2.1 running on AGX Xavier with Jetpack 5.1.4.

Documentation for Isaac ROS 3.x mentions Jetpack 6.x is required which is not available for AGX Xavier. However, the AGX Xavier forum shows some people upgraded to newer Cuda separately from Jetpack.

If we follow the instructions and upgrade Cuda, what are the chances that Isaac ROS 3.1 or 3.2 could then work on AGX Xavier ?

In other words, other than the Cuda 11 on Jetpack 5.x and Cuda 12.x on Jetpack 6.x, are there any other specific reasons why it would not be possible to run the Isaac ROS 3.2 Docker containers on an AGX Xavier ?

Previously when we were on Jetpack 4.51 any attempts at upgrades of Jetpack components bricked it, requiring a painful installation from scratch so that’s why I’m asking before trying this.

Hi @infox22oo

Thank you for your post.

Thank you for your interest in custom setups!
However, we want to inform you that we do not support custom setups, and we cannot confirm if Isaac ROS will work with this particular configuration.

If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!

Best,
Raffaello

Thanks for your reply. The AGX Xavier dev kit was a fully supported configuration until relatively recently.

Would it be possible to check with the dev team why it was dropped from support ? Is there a fundamental incompatibility in the hardware, or mainly just a performance issue compare with Orin, or no time to test Isaac ROS on multiple platforms ?

Thanks
