Topic Description

Detailed Description

When I follow the stops on “Quick Install → Isaac Sim Documentation” on the nvidia website to quick install isaac sim, and then try to create the scene/franka arm, I get “missing references” and the objects are added to the environment but red, and unavailaible to be accessed. Same thing when I enable the isaac sim assets folder in the content window, it takes super long to upload and I get this error below:

I also tried downloading the “robots and sensors”, “materials and props”, and “environments” asset pack from nvidias website to maybe load the assets locally, but even this didn’t work as there are many dependencies and the software seems to default to accessing that s3 bucket in omniverse and it doesnt end up working. Does anyone have any advice to fix this error?

Screenshots or Videos

The assets show “missing reference” after the above errors occur when I try to create them.

Additional Information

What I’ve Tried

Tried reinstalling the .sh files, tried using local assets instead of fetching them like this. Nothing seems to work.

Additional Context

@rsonawane2002 i am just another user, but it looks like the hub is not detected/present (at the top right of the app), could you try installing the hub by clicking on Hub Not Detected field to install and see if you are still seeing the same issue?

another way to confirm whether you have issues accessing the OV assets on the AWS, could you try clicking on the asset link and see if you are able to download it (this is the same path in your error messages):

https://omniverse-content-production.s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/Assets/Isaac/5.0/Isaac/Environments/Simple_Room/simple_room.usd

if you do have problem downloading it, i suspect it would be attributed to connectivity issue(s).

Hi, thanks for the reply. I tried installing the hub in the top right, but it says error path already exists (and when I rm -rf that cache path and try to reinstall and reboot, it says hub not detected again despite restarting).

As for your second point, when I access the link in my browser the correspond .usd file is downloaded to my PC (even if I use curl to get a response, I do get one). But when it tries to load from IsaacSim it doesn’t work for some reason. How can I isolate if this is a permissions (sudo) or wifi issue?

Also, do you recommend using omniverse/nucleus server? Do I need to have something running or installed to use assets? I read that omniverse is now deprecated so not sure on that front.

The main issue seems to be this:

I tried a fresh reinstall as well, and I still get this error. Is it an issue with my local computer or wifi? Should I try to use brev instead.

Have you tried using the official Local Assets Packs and following all steps in the Isaac Sim documentation’s “Assets” section? The process involves downloading the full local asset pack, merging all required pack files into one folder, and editing your configuration files so Isaac Sim reliably finds and indexes local assets instead of remote ones.
