Isaac Sim & Create are not allowing me to run my multi-GPU system

Hello!

I have been using my Nvidia studio laptop machine with RTX 4070 mobile for a couple of months with Create and Isaac Sim until I decided to upgrade and I purchased another GPU RTX 4060ti with 16GB VRAM. I attached it via thunderbolt 4 eGPU enclosure.

The system works well running latest drivers (studio) and it sees both GPU as well as it can utilize them both in apps like Blender, Substance Painter 3D.

However the main apps from omniverse doesn’t allow it to run

I was installing (clean install) all possible drivers starting from the oldest listed on system requirements for Isaac Sim up until the recent one with no luck.

Here is my system:

I really love the tool and the work you have done, hopefully we can work this one out as well.
Cheers

I do not believe we support external GPUs like this. Ideally you would use another gpu in a desktop or just another computer in general. It is possible it “could” work, but you would need the exact right drivers and even then there is no guarantee. We do not officially support it. You are currently using the WRONG drivers. We need it be exact.

So when I disable built-in laptop 4070 then it works very well with just the external RTX 4060ti. It just does not want to work with both at the same time I guess.

Hmm interesting. Not sure why exactly. But thanks for the update.
