Issue Connecting Nvidia Drive AGX with Display

Dear NVIDIA Team,

I have flashed my NVIDIA Drive AGX (Pegasus) platform, but after powering it on, the display remains black. I understand that after flashing, the platform needs to be configured using Putty, which I have installed on my PC. So far, I have only used the USB3 cable (Debug port from NVIDIA <----> USB3 port on my PC), but I would like to confirm if a serial cable is required for communication between the PC and the NVIDIA platform for configuration. If so, could you please advise which serial cable is needed and where it should be connected on the platform?

Thank you for your support.

Best regards,

Dear @zizzi,
May I know the DRIVE release version?
Is the flashing successful ? Are you to access Aurix /Tegra console using minicom ?
Also, please see Install DRIVE with SDK Manager :: DRIVE Platform Installation Guide with NVIDIA SDK Manager if you have flashed DRIVE OS 5.2.6

Hello @SivaRamaKrishnaNV ,

I have installed Drive OS 5.2.6, and the flashing was successful (see image)

Additionally, I can establish a connection to both Aurix and Tegra (see images).

I have configured Minicom as described in the documentation (please see the configuration screenshots as well).

I followed the instructions for installing the desktop, but unfortunately, it was not successful. My screen still shows nothing, and it is not receiving any signal.

Could you assist me with this issue?

Dear @zizzi,
Could you please see if Error trying to connect monitor - #17 by SivaRamaKrishnaNV helps?

hallo @SivaRamaKrishnaNV,
I just followed all the steps for Tegra B (see LogFile )
LogFile.txt (547.2 KB)

but I’m still unable to see anything on the monitor

Dear @zizzi ,
could you check systemctl status display-manager ?

hallo @SivaRamaKrishnaNV
I ran the systemctl status display-manager command, but it seems that no GUI is installed (please refer to the terminal screenshot).

I’m not sure how to proceed from here.

Additionally, I searched for “Driveworks” on my target device, but it doesn’t appear to be installed as I checked the /usr/local directory and couldn’t find it.

Do you have any suggestions on how to move forward?

Best regards

hi @SivaRamaKrishnaNV ,

Any updated?

Dear @zizzi ,
Is gdm3 installed? Can you check gdm3 status?
For driveworks, you need to install it seperately. please check for driveworks 4.0 ta file under DRIVE OS 5.2.6 release at DRIVE Downloads | NVIDIA Developer.

Dear @SivaRamaKrishnaNV
I have checked my system, and gdm3 is not currently installed.

Could you please confirm if I should proceed with installing gdm3 based on the instructions provided in the following screen, or if there is an alternative action I should take?

Thank you for your guidance.

dear @SivaRamaKrishnaNV
i checked the gdm3status on the Tegra B system and it is installed . I ran the systemctl status gdm3 command, and the output is as shown in the attached screenshot.

Best regards,

Dear @zizzi ,
Does this issue still need support?

It appears gdm3 is dead from logs. Please check if restarting fixes the issue.

dear @SivaRamaKrishnaNV ,
Thank you for your help. It appears that gdm3 is now running correctly, but there is still an issue with the display. The error logs indicate “Too many open files,” and it seems that the display is not being initialized properly. Could you please provide further assistance or suggest additional steps to resolve this issue?

I would appreciate any help to get the display working on the Xavier A platform.

Best regards,
