JetPack 4.5.1 Install Loops and Incomplete

I am installing JetPack 4.5.1 on Xavier with 32G eMMC + 1T SSD. SDK is installed on Ubuntu 18.04 NUC and connected to target with USB-C.
After a couple of hours of install on Host (step 1 and step 2), target was flashed with Jetson OS in Step 3. Then it goes thru “System Configuration” setup. Seems to perform similar steps (“Run anacron jobs” and 'Starting Network Manager Script Dispatcher Service") multiple times over past 25 hrs and still going on. Though no error ( ‘OK’ for all console logs).

  • Setup indicates to have selected random network address for host and target. What are the implications, if any?
  • Is there any known issue or i need to check / do something differently than specified in the prompts?
  • Can I stop installation (power off Xavier etc) without corrupting Xavier?
  • Does flash wipe out anything on the eMMC or uses temporary storage (how much and which folder) during flash?

Is beta 4.6 available which has option to select target / destination drive between eMMC and SSD?

If you keep seeing this behavior after doing the flash, let sdkmanager remove the files installed on your host, re-download it and re-flash again.

If issue persists after doing so, find another host and try again.

  • Does flash wipe out anything on the eMMC or uses temporary storage (how much and which folder) during flash?

The emmc will be wiped out and the x64 host machine is responsible for doing the flash work. Those files will be sent from your x64 host to the xavier emmc.
