I tried upgrading to Jetpack 7.2 on my jetson orin nano developer kit via usb flashing on nvme and the upgrade crashed on pass 2. The error message: no install recommends nvidia-l4t-bootloader returned nonzero exist status 100.
Now I am stuck with Bios version 39.2 previously i was on version 36 running jetpack 6.2.

We recommend preparing a native Ubuntu environment and installing SDK Manager to perform the device upgrade.
If you would like to investigate why the ISO method failed, please capture and share the serial console logs during iso methods.

I was able to use SDKManager connected thru my windows pc & reflashed back to 36.4 jetpack 6.1.1.
