Jetson AGX ORIN won't boot

Hi,

Please plug out the cable and try other port on your host.

Also, check your “lsusb” command on your host to see if there is anything new after you plug in the usb cable.

If there is nothing new comes, please check the “dmesg” command on your host and see if it prints anything new after you plug in the usb cable.

“dmesg” is the kernel log on your host. If there is a valid usb device connected, no matter what situation, it should print some logs (even error log is log…).

Hi,

You don’t need to directly copy the whole log to me.

Just filter the dmesg log by yourself before and after you connect the cable.

For example, if the timestamp in the last line is always same, it meaans no new log is printed.

Could you take a picture of your exact usb connection on jeston?

Just to clarify.

I need the result on type C port. But not micro usb port. ttyACM0~3 is from micro usb port.

There is no difference in dmesq with and without type c.

Do you have other Orin AGX that can do the cross check?

For example, check the cable, check the method to enter recovery mode with that OK Orin board.

No,I have paid for one more on Friday on Arrow but it hasn’t been shipped yet so I won’t receive it for at least 7 days.

what else should I try with the current Jetson Agx Orin? Waiting cables from the second one is too long as it can be on custom for long time

I would like to double confirm the UART log.

Please try to use picocom (sudo apt-get install picocom) on your host instead of minicom.

sudo picocom -b 115200 /dev/ttyACM0

And reboot your host to see what got printed.

Have you rebooted the board after you enable the picocom?

Just a reminder that this needs to use the micro port on the right hand side in this pic but not type C.

I am using micro port now, not type C.

should I reboot the board on host pc or jetson? if you mean on board from jetson, reset button doesn’t work and if I do force power of from left power button, jetson won’t power on until I plug off the power.

Hi,

I mean you need to reset your jetson. /dev/ttyACM0 is a node to capture the log from jetson.

You should press the hold the power button for a while and see if that powers on the board.

Basically, how you power on the board does not matter to me. I just want to check the boot up log from ttyACM0. Reset button or power button or even plug out the cable and plug in again are all okay to me.

Hi,
When I am connected to micro usb port , pressing the power button doesn’t change anything. The board doesn’t switch on.

Are you talking about the power LED does not even light up or you are talking about the LED is light up but no log from console?

First one, the Led is not light up when the micro usb is connected and I am pressing the power button.
