Jetson Nano 4GB B01 Dev Kit SD card image flash on host Ubuntu 24.04 LTS

Is it fine if I use my host Machine as Ubuntu 24.04 LTS to flash the micro sd card for my jetson or should I reinstall Ubuntu 18.04? Alternatively is it okay if I flash image following windows instruction.

Reason I’m asking is I am going to use ROS for my project and thus need ubuntu on my laptop, I just want to know if it makes a difference for initially flashing the sd card image on jetson nano?

Hi ruanpot28,

You can use Windows to create SD card image and put it on the devkit to boot.

But we would suggest using Ubuntu 18.04 to develop for Jetson Nano since it uses Jetpack 4.X which is compatible with Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04.
SDK Manager in Ubuntu 24.04 may not support Jetson Nano with JP4.X.
