Jetson Nano Hangs Frequently (checked power and fan)

Hi,
My nano hangs frequently when try to play video or even a few extra tabs in the browser. By hang I mean the screen freezes, and the mouse pointer is stuck. If a video is playing - it is stuck and random audio sound plays in the speaker in a very short loop (basically, noise). If I leave the nano for about 30 mins - it eventually will recover.

Here are the things I have tried:

  • I replaced the USB power with a recommended barrel power suppply
  • I thought this was a temperature issue, so I installed a FAN

I’ve run apt update and apt upgrade fairly regularly. Now I am running out of ideas. How can I fix this. From a hardware angle the device should be able to handle this workload.

may I know which JetPack release you’re working with.
could you please gather failure logs for investigation, you might also check both kernel side and user-space.
for example,
dmesg cat /var/log/syslog

please also monitor tegrastats to check the system resources.

You may run out of memory.
Create swap on SD card to fix the problem

Both the logs have the following message over and over again:

Thanks for the tip on the swap. I created and turned on swap - that helped materially!
