Jetson Nanon B01 4GB, Green light on via 5v 4a, worked for year, then no hdmi signal or boot , heatsink cold

Good day

Tried on off etc, unit only powers on automatically, when power supply in, unable to get to boot or show nvidia splash, connecting usb to usb 2 port and to pc doesnt notify any sound of a device being connected to windows…

Tried switching to usb power, again green light comes on, worked for bit, then consistently no matter if use 4a or usb power, green light on but no hdmi signal or sign of boot, or power to usb devices like keyboard, and if leave on the heatsink doesnt heat up…

Had since about June 2021, tried reflashing card… doesnt seem to do much…
and card seems readable , what did notice though was reading as infinite partitions almost in windows before formatting again… not sure if that is normal

Power supply on barrel reads 5.2v consistent still…

Have been unemployed as IT and Media and AV tech in country, so replacement is a challenge, was just using to play media in browser really until came up with a solid idea that no one else in world doing whereas to become relevant again in changing times…

Not sure if anyone experienced the same and have a magic fix?

Thanks

Have you tried with other SD card and do the reflash by SDK maanger via JetPAck?

On windows so, used the tools suggested on nvidia… and balencha , didnt make difference…

Unsure if there are any sensors if would relate at all to heat paste on heatsink to cause not to boot… other than that not sure…

Can it enter recovery mode? If not, may be power switch on board issue.

Not sure…

If correctly done shorter rec and gnd…

Plugged power in , same symptoms, green power light on , but no hdmi signal, heatsink cold to touch…

So are you suggesting power tracks or joints cracked or damaged? Would green light still illuminate?

Thanks

Some forums say bridge reset and rec pin, I bridged rec and gnd… now get apx device in windows, but no driver attached to that apx device… where to from there if anything should do in rec?

Thanks

And if just cycle power or jumper reset after than goes out of recover though no boot.

If I were you I’d try to flash my board with flash.sh first.
Because flash.sh can flash QSPI-NOR and sd-card/eMMC, and in my opinion it is simpler than SDKM.
Just as a matter of experience, your board may need to re-flash QSPI-NOR, perhaps to fix the boot issue.

Reflashing sd-card won’t solve many problems, resetting sd-card image tends to be useful only when the system crashes.

Will look thanks

The Actual SoC ID(0x00) mismatches intended jetson-nano-devkit SoC ID(0x21).

Failed, then tried sdk manager flash, failed.

Not sure how to get past that

Is it possible to probe the power on sequence as listed in Design Guide? That may help. Also you can use a DC supply to read the current to check if any component shorted to GND which will cause high current.

Id have to find the guide to refer to what you mention, I probed the PSU 5v dc 4a, which reads 5.25v…

But re board, assume measure dc, neg on each gnd to multipin connector… whats safe or relavent to touch pos to with multimeter on board?

By eye seems fine, unsure if humidity can cause issue… or spike… though dont do often unsure if guide is direct to understand when get chance.

Weird to understand the product guide…

But took an extra look while trying to find references and spot resistor values as if the screen printed…either missing it or the layout is different… then observed module pins attached to the female connector… spec of dirt I thought was a bent copper gold pin… and in tern say was silver solder pins, not copper-gold visible… and the orange spec was between two pins… and stuck… blew enough, tested power… say text… giving up at a win for now… to savor… thanks for options if this solves that… though this could be listed as a symptom if when no flash, unsure if no flash will work now… must test… or more simply maybe no boot… or just luck…

Hi, don’t understand what you mean here. Have you checked if any component shorted to GND or damaged? Also you can try RMA for it if necessary.

Thanks, unsure where to check for gnd checks and power…

Unsure if intermittent regarding RMA and what hassle of cost to RMA…

I just blew on it and it started up and flashed with reformatted card and reflash…

Havent tried to start it up again…
