I followed the official setup instructions of the Jetson Orin Nano dev kit, despite having accidentally powered it on without SD card once.
After plugging in the SD card flashed with JetPack6.0 image, and connecting keyboard&mouse&display, I turned on the power and find display only working for a few moments, displaying distorted startup screens before restarting and then disabling display forever. I wonder if I was using a kit for 5.X images, but flashed in 6.0 without updating the firmware.
In a few occasions, when I half unplugged the mouse and exert it inside the port in a right spot, the display would become functional, but a message of (as I recall) “test key detected, entering forced reboot” would show up and the board still reboots. Due to this, and the likely cause of this distortion being channel noise(voltage instability), I’m suspecting this to be perhaps a soldering/component issue.
Here’s what the startup screen looks like:
You could try to reflash the board with sdkmanager first.
I tried all the USB ports and the USBC port with several different cables, none of them could be detected by my PC, let alone flashing. This seems increasingly likely to be a dev board soldering issue.
Checked the USB devices list, nothing showed up either.
In case this is your first time… you need to put the board into recovery mode so that it will get detected by your host.
