Jetson Orin Nano no longer boots after changing from Dev Kit to IO Board

Hi,

I use the official Jetson Orin Nano Dev Kit (8 GB) from nvidia. However, I need a smaller board, which is why I ordered an IO board (SEEED NVIDIA Jetson - I/O-Board für Orin NX / Nano | Erweiterungsboards günstig kaufen | reichelt elektronik). After I took the Jetson out of the dev kit and put it into the IO board, it no longer boots properly. The fan starts briefly, then goes off again, and then starts all over again. I can’t get an HDMI/display port signal out of the Jetson. It also no longer works in the dev kit.

When I put the Jetson into recovery mode, my computer still recognizes it. However, I don’t want to reflash the Jetson as it contains important files. Is there another way to fix this?

Best regards
Louis

Because different boards have different devcie trees/configirations.
Your Orin Nano module needs to be reflashed with Seeed’s IO board SW to get it boots well.

Hi louis.steinhausen2,

Kay is right, this A603 carrier board features a different device tree/configuration, so it requires it’s own flashing configuration and/or driver.

The good news is that Seeed Studio does an excellent job documenting its flashing instructions per JetPack version.

You can pick your desired JetPack version and follow their guide.
