Jetson Orin Nano Not Powering On After 15V DC

Hello everyone,

We are currently working on a project using the Jetson Orin Nano, but after powering it with a 15V DC power supply, the device suddenly stopped working. The fan is not spinning, and the power indicator light is not blinking.
Upon inspecting the board, we suspect that the polarity of the power connections may have been reversed, which could have caused damage. Specifically, we noticed potential issues with the power diode and two other components(see attached image).
Our main concerns:

  1. Could a polarity reversal cause permanent damage to these components?
  2. Is there a possibility that the processor itself has been damaged?
  3. Are there any troubleshooting steps or fixes we should try before considering a replacement?
We would really appreciate any expert insights on diagnosing and resolving this issue. Thanks in advance for your help!
    Looking forward to your guidance.
  1. Power Input Polarity reversal could cause permanent damage to the components. U3 and U4 both GS9230 DC-DC converter IC seems to be blown off is visible from the picture provided.
  2. Not sure, you may need to check after replacing the faulty components and further debug. Or use a replacement carrier board, if available.
  3. Refer to chapter 5. Interface Power in Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kit Carrier Board specification and carrier board reference design files for schematics and layout files available at Jetson Download Center | NVIDIA Developer
