Jetson Orin Nano not powering up

Hi,

We have recently bought a Jetson Orin Nano 8GB developer kit. I was using it for a few days, but yesterday I rebooted it and since then it is not powering on. I have checked with multimeter with GPIO 5-volt pin which seems okay, but there is no voltage output from the GPIO 3.3-volt pin. Could you help us with the issue? Thank you for your help.

Best,
Abu

Hi md.abu.bakr.siddique11,

I’ve moved your topic to correct category for Orin Nano.

What’s the Jetpack version in use?

Could you refer to the following instruction to capture serial console log for further check?
Jetson Nano & NX Style - Serial Debug Console - JetsonHacks

Hi KevinFFF,

Thank you for your reply and help. I made the configuration according to your suggested video and turn on the power. But it seems nothing being shown up in the serial console log. I have attached images for your reference. Please let me know what should I do next for debugging. Thank you so much for your help.

Hi KevinFFF,

Here is my connections:

Hi KevinFFF,

I’m using Jetpack 6.2. Thank you.

Best,
Abu

Do you confirm that the connection of serial console cable is correct?

Maybe you can try swap TX/RX in case you connected them wrong.

Do you run any application before it cannot be powered on?

Hi KevinFFF,

I can confirm that I followed the following connection of serial console:

Jetson Nano J50 Pin 4 (TXD) → Cable RXD (White Wire)
Jetson Nano J50 Pin 3 (RXD) → Cable TXD (Green Wire)
Jetson Nano J50 Pin 7 (GND) → Cable GND (Black Wire)

I was just trying to implement some open source slam algorithms before it starts failing to power up.

Best,
Abu

For Orin Nano devkit, it should be J14 as following:

It sounds okay to me and should not cause any boot issue.

Is there still no any serial console logs output?
Have you also tried entering into force recovery state and check if your host can recognize it through lsusb?

Hi KevinFFF,

Thank you for your suggestions. I still do not see any serial console logs output. I connect pins 9 and 10 during power up and see the following output using lsusb.

You have to connect USB-C port with host PC to be recognized.

Hello KevinFFF,

Connected the usb port with PC and here is the output, it seems same as before to me.

If your devkit can neither be detected in forced-recovery state nor output any serial console log, we suggest you perform the RMA process.

Hi KevinFFF,

Thank you for the suggestions. I’m not sure how to start the RMA process, any documents on this?

Please refer to What if I need an RMA (Return Material Authorization)? for details.
