Jetson Orin NX 16GB JetPack 6 Lan-External Wireless Adapter Problem

Hello, I upgraded the Orin NX 16GB device to Jetpack 6 Ubuntu 22.04 via SDK Manager. There are 2 Ethernet ports on the IPC, one is Lan+PSE and the other is just Lan. Both of their lights are on, but only the Lan+PSE is visible and working in the system. Additionally, I tried many external wireless adapters, but they did not work. For example, the Asus USB-N14 device has its driver installed, it appears in the list of connected USB devices, but its light is not on and it does not appear on the internet screen. Can you help?

If a device listed in lsusb but wifi interface does not show up, then it could be vendor driver not installed or something else.

Yes, the device appears in the list. It does not appear on the wifi interface and the light of the adapter does not turn on. Also, when I plug a cable into the Lan port, the Lan port light turns on, but it does not appear in the interface or “ifconfig”.

Share the dmesg.

Attach it as text file. Also, we need log start from the beginning.

Okay, the text file is here. dmesg.txt (60.6 KB)

Looks like the corresponding driver is not enabled. Please check with the vendor if their driver is supported on kernel5.15 .

Thank you. So, do you have any conclusions about the Lan port?

I don’t know what you are talking about.

Only see some hubs, 1 wireless adapter from Asus and one ASIX LAN.

ASIX LAN is enabled. Wireless adapter seems missing driver.

If there are something else, please clarify.

There were two separate issues with the device. One was the WiFi adapter, and the other was a LAN problem. The device has two LAN ports; one is working, but the other is not.

As you are using a custom board, how about you share a block diagram about how is the exact connection first?

And what kind of result shall it be like in lsusb if it got detected? As ASIX one?

Are you asking for the connection diagram that I am trying to create, or do you mean the technical connection diagram of the custom board?

connection diagram of the custom board?

This

I couldn’t find any other information or a diagram besides this.

Are you the one who made this carrier board or you bought this board from other vendor…

This is SeedStudio Industrial J4012

ok… so you bought this board from other vendor.

So are you connecting some LAN port card by yourself or it is on their carrier board from the beginning?

There are 2 LAN ports on the device from the beginning.

Then please check with the board vendor. We cannot answer this kind of question with your directly.
