Jetson Orin NX - tegrastats interpretation

Overview

I’m looking for help interpreting the output of tegrastats on an Orin NX 8GB platform running L4T R35.3.1.

The output is below:

<timestamp> RAM 3821/7337MB (lfb 21x1MB) SWAP 1/3668MB (cached 0MB) CPU [30%@1651,53%@1651,70%@1651,30%@1651,off,off] EMC_FREQ 0% GR3D_FREQ 0% GR3D2_FREQ 0%@0 CV0@54.875C CPU@57.031C SOC2@54.468C SOC0@55.125C CV1@54.937C GPU@54.437C tj@57.75C SOC1@57.75C CV2@54.125C

Questions

  1. I can see that CPU 5 and 6 are “off”. I am thinking this is just CPU idling and those CPUs will turn on automatically if needed. Is that correct?
  2. Is it correct that GR3D freq will show non-zero if the GPU starts being utilized?
  3. What is the difference between GR3D and GR3D2? From what I understand, Orin NX only has a single GPU.

Thanks

Hi,
Please refer to information in developer guide:
Tegrastats Utility — Jetson Linux Developer Guide documentation

And number of online CPU cores depends on the power modes. If you would like to have all cores online, please switch to another power mode.
