Jetson suddenly fails to boot

Hello, I’m working on a Jetson AGX Orin developer kit 64G

I used SSD, and I set it to boot with NVMe
The SSD used is as follows
samsung SSD 980 1TB NVMe M.2 2280 MZ-V8V1T0BW

I used it without any problems for 6 months (But I reset it twice due to a problem during project.)

Today I shut it down as usual, but the boot screen doesn’t show up when I disconnect and reconnect the power. The fan kept going full.

I reinstalled everything without jetson image flash through sdmanager, but the problem does not improve.

I want to keep the internal file and environment, so I want to put off the initialization until the end.

I ordered the UART cable, and it will arrive tomorrow.

Spec.
Jetson AGX Orin
Jetpack 6.0
NVMe booting

Thanks…

Actually, my problem is jetson can’t boot.
I didn’t use deep learning…
I can’t access to jetson, only through host pc.

Hi,

Could you use minicom to access your device?

Thanks

I disconnected the SSD, backed up my files, and then proceeded with the initialization.
I plugged in the UART pin and tried to get serial output, but no logs were printed at bootup. After the initialization, the Jetson worked fine.

Hi,

The issue seems solved.
Are there any other matters that need to be addressed?

Thanks

I have the Jetson Orin boot issue again.

A few weeks ago, I had the same issue and opened a ticket, but it wasn’t solved completely. I solved it by disconnecting the SSD, backing it up, and resetting Jetson.

But today, I’m having the same problem: when I plug in the Jetson, the fan goes back to full, and the logo doesn’t come up. The fan doesn’t stop, it just keeps going back to full.

When I had the same problem before, I checked the UART pin for the boot logo, and there was no log then, so I’m guessing it’s a problem with the initial boot.

I have a spare of the same model (Jetson AGX Orin 64G developer), so I tried disconnecting the SSD from the problematic Jetson and plugging it into the other one, and it turned on.

I had it set up to boot from the SSD, so I was using the SSD for primary storage and the Jetson’s 64G for boot purposes. It looks like the problem is probably in the storage on the Jetson itself.

The other Jetsons are working fine, so I’m guessing this is either a hardware issue with the Jetson or a software issue that I can’t fix. I expect the same problem to occur again after a factory reset.

I would like to have the Jetson repaired, is that possible?
