Jetson Thor Overheating and Freezing - Power Mode Limited to 70W but Issue Persists

Hi Nvidia,

I am experiencing a severe overheating and system freeze issue with my Jetson Thor platform, and I’m hoping to get some advice on how to resolve it.

I use a Custom Carrier Board and JetPack 7.0

During moderate to high workloads, the board’s temperature spikes rapidly. After running for a short period, the system completely freezes/hangs due to the high temperature, and requires a hard reboot to recover.

I used nvpmodel to restrict the power profile to 70W. Unfortunately, this did not reduce the heat generation enough. The thermal issue persists, and the system still overheats and crashes exactly as before.

Any insights or suggestions on how to debug this further would be greatly appreciated!

I would suggest to improve the thermal solution to improve it.

Please also move to JP7.1 for better software support.

I encountered a similar problem. Does this issue persist when testing with Jetpack 7.1?
