I noticed that the Jetson Thor has MGBE options on UPHY1 in configuration 2. Am I able to connect any PCIe NIC to those lanes? Like say an I226 or Marvell PHY?
MGBE is XFI. If you want to use PCIe NIC then you would need to choose from the PCIe controlles C1, C2, C3 or C4. Refer to the Jetson Thor Carrier board design files and the specification, one ethernet NIC is connected through PCIe.
Am I able to use a SGMII-based controller? I would like to have 2 SFP28 connectors and 2 copper connectors ideally on our system connected for the MGBE C0-C3 (XFI). We would use C1 and C2 for other 2.5GBe PCIe NICs. If not do you have any recommendations to use for copper based approach?
