Jetson TX2 Development Kit Capacitor

Hello everyone,

To assume, if we were to replace the C168 from the 19V Jack road with the same capacitance but higher voltage would we have a problem with the developer kit or the tx2 itself? The capacitor I’m talking about and the 19V Jack reference is from the document P2596_C02_OrCAD schematic.

As far as I know, replacing capacitors with higher voltage counterparts doesn’t exactly do damage unless you know your power distribution but I am not sure in this application whether this would be wise or not.

Thanks for your help.

It should be OK. BTW, why do you want to replace it?

While running some tests, the capacitor on the development kit (to be exact the C168 one) blew up. Before running hardware tests, we want to replace the capacitor in case of any failures. We have a capacitor with the same capacitance but it is rated for 50VDC. Since we are not exactly sure of the application of those capacitors in that sheet we wanted to ask beforehand.

That’s OK then.
