Jetson Xavier NX - JetPack 4.6: Old SOM Accepts New DRAM Patch - Any Risks?

I am using the patch from https://developer.nvidia.com/downloads/embedded/L4T/pcn/overlay/PCN210641/overlay-xnx-PCN210641-bsp32.5.1.tgz. After replacing the DRAM with PCN210641 and flashing it onto a new SOM, it worked successfully. However, when I flashed it onto the old SOM, it still succeeded. I’ve been thinking about whether this is correct and if there could be any issues arising from this. I am using a Jetson Xavier NX - eMMC 16GB with JetPack 4.6.0.

That’s expected, the patch is to add the support for new SOM, not to stop the old SOM.
