K20M on desktop PC?

Is it possible and reasonable to plug a K20M card in a standard desktop PC?

I have a “spare” K20M, no rack server to plug the card in and currently I cannot afford a new server. Is there a “cheap” way to utilize this card? As far as I know the K20M has a passive cooling system designed to work with server-like installations (external fans). What will happen if this card is used inside a “standard” PC?

As long as you have decent airflow to your case, it should be fine, if you have the room, get a PCI slot cooler, that might be enough. There might have been a thread about passive cards on desktop PCs a while back on here… I’ll see if I find it.
