Kafka_protocol_adapter ; libnvds_kafka_proto.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Please provide complete information as applicable to your setup.

• Hardware Platform (Jetson / GPU) : Jetson
• DeepStream Version : 5.0
• JetPack Version (valid for Jetson only) : 4.4 DP
• TensorRT Version : 7
• NVIDIA GPU Driver Version (valid for GPU only)

I was following /opt/nvidia/deepstream/deepstream/sources//libs/kafka_protocol_adaptor/README.

while running both test programs;

It shows :

####:/opt/nvidia/deepstream/deepstream/sources/libs/kafka_protocol_adaptor$ ./test_kafka_proto_sync
Refer to nvds log file for log output
/opt/nvidia/deepstream/deepstream-NVDS_VERSION/lib/libnvds_kafka_proto.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
unable to open shared library

But in the line no. 29 in README sudo cp /usr/local/lib/librdkafka* /opt/nvidia/deepstream/deepstream-<version>/lib/
while copying
There were no libnvds_kafka_proto.so file in /usr/local/lib/ but it is in /opt/nvidia/deepstream/deepstream/sources/libs/kafka_protocol_adaptor/

Have you followed the README to build the library from source?

$ git clone https://github.com/edenhill/librdkafka.git
$ cd librdkafka
$ git reset --hard 7101c2310341ab3f4675fc565f64f0967e135a6a
$ ./configure
$ make
$ sudo make install
$ sudo cp /usr/local/lib/librdkafka* /opt/nvidia/deepstream/deepstream-<version>/lib/

The library should be available in /usr/local/lib/ after the sudo make install command.

Yeah, I did sudo make install. I followed the README.

It looks like you try to open the library under deepstream-NVDS_VERSION rather than deepstream-5.0.
Please help to update the source to the corresponding path:

Ex. test_kafka_proto_sync.cpp

/* MODIFY: to reflect your own path */
#define NVDS_VERSION 5.0
#define SO_PATH "/opt/nvidia/deepstream/deepstream-5.0/lib/"
