This model was just released: [Introducing Laguna S 2.1 — Poolside](https://poolside.ai/blog/introducing-laguna-s-2-1)

My first impressions: vLLM crashed during the throughput benchmark. I noticed that acceptance rates for the DFlash model are abysmal (~8%). There is probably lots of room for improvement. I am using the latest [spark-vllm-docker](https://github.com/eugr/spark-vllm-docker).

**Config:**
My config for TP=2 (as per [poolside/Laguna-S-2.1-NVFP4 · Hugging Face](https://huggingface.co/poolside/Laguna-S-2.1-NVFP4)):

**Throughput:**
Here are the benchmarks - prefill looks great, something seems off with decode.

It should fit into single spark as well, they even have special section in model card.

Pleasantly surprised by this! I’m going to unload GLM to give this a try. Slightly disappointed that it uses dflash vs something autoregressive. Also not looking forward to the 1M ctx and 512-token sliding window combo, but we’ll see!

I’m thinking this at FP8 may be an even better option for 2 GB10s - NVFP4 should work with one.

There are official releases at NVFP4 and INT4 which are within 1GB of each other (INT4 is actually slightly larger) and both have tailored DFlash drafters shipped as well.

It will be really interesting to see true A/B tests between backends like Marlin and b12x/Flashinfer using otherwise identical tooling.

Ya my spec decoding stats are abysmal, dropping below 50% on temp=0 and n=3, and even n=2 on certain types of prompts. I don’t think their nvfp4 dflash model is right.

Using the Poolside vLLM recipe from the model card, with 15 spec tokens, I noticed that draft acceptance was consistently 0-15%, never higher, and mostly hovered around 2-3%. Spec tokens 1-3 were generally accepted (at some level), sometimes as high as 1-5, but 6-15 were always at 0.0. Seems like kind of a waste to have it set that high. Generation tok/s is anywhere from 10-15, which is terribly slow.

On the other hand, it scored 86 on tool-eval-bench and 87.1/100 on spark-bench. Chatting with one of my Hermes profiles running it has been ok, but we haven’t attempted to do much actual work yet.
