Letter of Vloatility

Hello

We have during the last 5 years produced a system, that contains 2 Mellanox NICs:

MCM4121A-ACAT

MCM414-BCAT

For these 2 NICs we need ‘Letter of Volatility’ or ‘Statements of Volatility’.

How can we obtain these ??

Best regards

Ole Benny

Hi Ole,

Thank you for reaching out!
Letters of Volatility (LoV) for Mellanox/NVIDIA networking adapters are not typically published as self-service documents on the developer forum.

For the MCM4121A-ACAT and MCM414-BCAT adapters, I recommend the following:

  1. Open a support case via the NVIDIA Enterprise Support Portal (https://enterprise-support.nvidia.com) this is the fastest path to obtaining official LoV documentation for specific part numbers.
  2. Contact your NVIDIA/Mellanox sales representative or FAE. They can often facilitate requests for compliance documentation directly from the product team.

Also, could you double-check the second part number?
MCM414-BCAT may be a truncated model number, the full part number will help ensure we pull the correct documentation for you.

Once you have a support case open, the team can provide the official Statement of Volatility specific to your adapter revisions.

Thanks,
Ilan.

Hi Ilan

Thank you for responding back.

It is my bad writing.

Hi Ole,

Thanks for sharing the pictures.
The procedure is the same one for these adapters as well

Option 1 - NVIDIA Enterprise Support Portal (fastest):
Open a case at https://enterprise-support.nvidia.com and specify:

  • Document type: Letter of Volatility
  • Part numbers: MCX4121A-ACAT and MCX414A-BCAT
  • Intended use (e.g., data sanitization compliance, government procurement, decommissioning)

Option 2 - Contact your NVIDIA/Mellanox sales representative or Field Applications Engineer (FAE), who can escalate the request internally to the compliance team.

In the LoV you receive, you can expect documentation covering the types of memory present on the card (volatile vs. non-volatile), whether any user data is retained, and recommended sanitization procedures which is especially relevant for these NICs given they have onboard flash for firmware storage.

Please make sure to reference both part numbers in your support case to get a single document covering both adapters if possible.

Hope this helps!
Thanks,
Ilan.
